Monoprints

My work often uses the conventions of exhibition posters or the title pages of books. Imbued with a sense of irony as well as of history, I aim to conflate the profane & the sacred. Allusions to or quotations from famous texts may appear — typography + imagery + memory working in concert.

Using paper-plate lithography, drypoint, drawing, oil paints and delicate asian papers, I create works that appear well-worn. Often there may be multiple prints from a single matrix, each image unique.

Representative works from several distinct suites are shown here.
